I have everything simple, it's interest ;)

Because you have over 10K EXP and might get a mention on the Hexliat soon. :) Crawling through relevant profiles...

Woah....:P

*Hexalist, btw. XD Didn't notice I typed that wrong... if you're curious what that's all about: https://hexalist.ngpot.com/

Are you really blind though? Maybe not so easy to go through lists like that if so. Or fun. Just a loooot of numbers....

I'm almost blind. Thanks for the link though :P I didn't really know what this hexa something is.... :P

Ah good to hear you can still see something, though must be tough. Do you need tools to browse around? Enough to make all text bigger, turn up readability, stuff like that?

As for the Hexalist it's the list of lists here, you could say. :) We used to have a lot more of these, for all the different stats you could gather here. Reviews, posts, blams, saves, medals, review responses, EXP of course... at least one for each one, but not so many are active now.

Maybe you'd be interested in this too btw, it's how most stats are tracked these days... outside the official rankings: https://www.wkrconcepts.com/nglogs/

I use a voiceover softwhare to read because I can't read for three years. When I found NG I could see 25% (100% is what a normals person sees) but now I only have 1-2% so I have to use this. It toke some weeks and months to get use to it and to can browse NG "perfectly" but now I can do almost everything with it :P Only the rating is a thing that I have to do with my mouse but for everything else I just need my keyboard. So yeah.... "I still can see" but I cannot really use it for anything

Dannnng. Hey by the way does the voice over software work alright for expressions like that? Does the 'dang' annunciation get elongated/slowed down? How does it interpret special characters, like a slash or apostrophes, around a word? I guess more visual nuances of the site, like post moods and emojis, don't come across at all?

Is this sight loss something genetic btw? Some accident that caused in? Any chance you could get that vision back via technical or medicinal innovations?

Don't think I've ever known anyone with this particular disability before. At least not in or near my own age group, on the Internet. We had a relative who was entirely blind when I was younger. Her son died in a car crash, her husband died in some disease, then she went blind herself. Some people really seem to get dealt an unfortunate hand in life, but yet some really make the most of it. People who paint with their feet, or make music via a straw for lack of muscular function otherwise, or compete in disability championships and all. Inspiring willpower and adaptability some have.

Don't mean to delve into depressing thoughts and all though, all that to maybe say I hope you're still getting by alright. Appreciating other senses all the more for lack of this one.

I guess music's the big thing here too? :)

Woah a lot of questions.... I'm afraid my english knowledge wont be enough to answer most of them but I try to do it :P
I can choose a variate of languages which are programmen into the voice over. I chose two english voices (an american and a british pronounciation) a german and I have three main types of hungarian (my native language). I use the hungarian standard even in the english sites such as NG.... it's funny to hear pronounced word in hungarian but the words are english....:P If you practice you can understand even with the hungarian pronounciation but it needs a lot of time.... usually I read all sentences word by word to understand "fully".... my language skills are not the best though.... however blind and visually impaired people have great skill of learning languages.... I've been learning german for 14 years and I can't even build up a simple sentence....XD but I try to get it right :P I realy like music though so that's because there are so many music in my favs
So yeah... this voice over is a great opportunity but needs a while to get use to it
The emojies.... some emojies are integrated to the software but there are a bunch of emojies that can't be recognised. The simple ones works though. If I go through every letters of a word and if I find a capital one then the voice pronounces it with a bit louder voice. Most of the special characters are recognisable so I don't really need to stop reading. And the regular characters like the "?" or the "!" (I don't know the english meaning of them) then the sentences are pronounced the way to people could understand the sentences on their right way.
I got visually impaired when I was 11 years old. No one knows what causes this disease but I almost lost my left eye and a small sight of the right eye. It started to get worse some years ago and now I can't really see anything. Last year I could play most of the video games of my computer and even draw a bit but now I can't really do anything by my self. I try to find things that I still like and things that I really would like to do but I can't really start to do anything because of the quarantine. Maybe I would start to play guitar :P I already own one beginner guitar and we planned to search for a guitar teacher but we didn't find any. Even if we would find one there is only a minor chance to get a teacher who can deal with blind students. I have really bad experiences yet but I still hope to meet a convinient teacher. I have tried to make music with programmes but they didn't worked with my voice over. I tried FL Studio and Cakewalk. These musics which have been uploaded to NG were made in Bandlab.com but these are only oversimplified songs built up of small loops. There are instruments on the site but they need mouse to make melodies with them. I tried to make some lines but I failed. Maybe one day I'll find people who I can work together on music. And maybe the guitar teacher will come soon :P
So yeah.... I'm not planning on giving up things :P but I need time to get use to my condition. I don't think that my sight could be getting even worse because it cannot be worse than it is right now. I won't get blind.
Maybe I could finally answer all of your "questions" :P I guess.... if there's still something then ask it :P I will surely answer to it ;P

Hey, sorry for the late response, other things came in the way.. don't worry about your English knowledge though, it was definitely enough. :)

Trying to imagine what this text sounds like pronounced in Hungarian. XD Was just about to say it sounds like it'd be a bit harder to understand that way! Intriguing. Personally I grew up on both Swedish and English, so I have two languages I'm pretty much native in. Not so easy to learn additional ones though, even when you can see. I tried Japanese one year but... it might require a bit more dedication. :)

Regarding emojis, does it recognize XD as a laughing emoji? Does the voice say 'laughing emoji' or similar if so? How is an emoji conveyed in voice?

Those two symbols would be a question mark and an exclamation mark. :) Good to know.

Woah that's harsh. Does the disease have a name? Do they know anything about it? Hmm I hope you do find a good teacher. Indeed maybe learning music would be a bit easier than learning languages. :) And I suppose if sound becomes an all the more important way of perceiving the world maybe it'd be a stronger form of expression. There's this rapper called 'Blind Fury' who I've been following for a while, I think he's entirely blind, but he seems to have found a calling with that particular genre. He's so good too! I used to think memory and visual acuity maybe have a link, since it seems you remember things better when you see them clearly, but maybe that isn't the case after all. When you imagine things, can you still imagine them clearly? Do you feel that your imagination is affected by how much you can see too?

You know, if you do start playing an instrument maybe we could collab sometime too. :) I just do vocals, mainly rap, but I used to make instrumentals too. Could maybe add a beat to a guitar rythm and make a full track out of it then. Or just guitar/vocals, a bit like an acapella, would be fun to try.

Do you use glasses too by the way? Do they help, or are you maybe past that point? It's good to hear you won't get blind entirely at least. Hope for the best!

I thought that you'll never read my respond :P
Well.... I've got some talent in music I know
I've danced for seven years and I only let it when my sight gone that much
And even the company wasn't the best....
I was 10 year-old when my teacher put me in the adult dancers and I could pick up the rhitm pretty well and quickly
There were even camps where I went for years
Actually it was folk dancing :P
About the disease.... I don't really know the english name of it you know....:P
In hungarian it's called "kétoldali látóideg sorvadás"
In latin it's "neuritis retrobulbaris" if it helps :P but I don't think so XD
I used to were glasses for two years but it didn't really help so I stopped it
I only use sunglasses because I can't really take the strong lights
And I like that no one knows where I'm looking at ;3
Even things looks better in yellow and brown (my favorite color of sunglasses)

About the "collaboration"....
I know that you like rap music :P I did even review one of your last songs on NG
I really prefer almos every kind of music but mainly I like rock and metal music
Rather metal :P
So wel.... one day if I could play acceptable the guitar then we can collaborate :P
I'm really looking forward :3

About the "special characters"....
If you're interested in hungarian the "!" is called "felkiálltó jel" and the "?" is called "kérdő jel" :P
Good luck to understand it ;P

About my imagination ....
It's pretty hard to explain.... I can remember things but I see them on the way that I can see now
Pretty strange isn't it.... and the new things that I got to know are in my memory on the way that I got know them
So.... There are a lot of pictures that I couldn't see fully
Then I have got the picture but only that part of it what I could memorise
However I can't recognise anyone's face
Even those people's faces who I knew before
Only their voices
But if you meet me you have to say who you are because it's surprising when someone starts to talk me
And I can't recognise you that quickly
And it's also pretty strange but when I'm dreaming I can see everything even that I used to see
Or it's just imagination as well
I don't know exacly.... but I can also hear touch and smell everything
Pretty cool isn't it? :P
These could be very useful when I have a dream where I have sex with someone ;P
So yeah....XD

Yah also about the guitar....
I could learn by myself but I'm too lazy to start it... and I have a fear of learn something on the wrong way so I just don't learn anything
And I don't like practicing alone..... this could be a program with other people to have fun and also learn something not just some dry and untakeably boring hours....
That's my opinion

I hope I could answer everything :P
Sorry I read your text only once.... if I had skip any of them then just say it :P

Thanks for favoriting my movie (:

You're welcome.... I guess :P

I thought you might be interesting

Hope you found what you were looking for :P

Már tudod miért.
